1. Professional Account Overview
MyCourtDocs offers designated Professional Accounts for licensed attorneys, custody evaluators, licensed therapists, mediators, guardians ad litem, and other court-appointed or court-recognized professionals ("Professionals").
Professional Accounts provide access to client-shared case documentation within the MyCourtDocs platform. These accounts are granted on a per-invitation basis — a Professional gains access to a specific case only when a client (the documenting parent) explicitly shares their case with that Professional.
By creating a Professional Account, you represent and warrant that:
- You are a licensed, credentialed, or court-recognized professional in your respective field
- You are accessing the Platform in connection with a legitimate professional engagement
- You have the authority to access case documentation shared with you by clients or parties
- You will comply with all applicable professional conduct rules, ethics requirements, and legal obligations governing your practice
MyCourtDocs does not verify professional credentials, licensing status, or disciplinary standing. Misrepresentation of professional status is grounds for immediate account termination.
2. No Attorney-Client Relationship Created
Critical Distinction
Use of MyCourtDocs does not create an attorney-client relationship, therapist-patient relationship, or any other professional-client relationship between MyCourtDocs and any user — whether parent or Professional.
MyCourtDocs is neutral documentation infrastructure. The Platform facilitates the organization and sharing of case documentation but does not participate in, influence, or take any position regarding legal strategy, case outcomes, or professional recommendations.
Any professional-client relationship exists solely between the Professional and their client, independent of and separate from the Platform. MyCourtDocs bears no responsibility for the nature, quality, or scope of professional services rendered by any Professional using the Platform.
3. Professional Responsibility Disclaimer
Professionals accessing MyCourtDocs acknowledge and agree that:
- Data accuracy is the user's responsibility. MyCourtDocs does not verify, validate, or authenticate the accuracy, truthfulness, or completeness of any documentation, evidence, or information uploaded by clients. Professionals must independently assess the reliability of all client-provided data.
- Legal strategy remains the Professional's domain. MyCourtDocs does not provide legal advice, case strategy recommendations, or professional guidance. All decisions regarding legal strategy, filings, and case presentation are the sole responsibility of the Professional.
- No evidentiary guarantees. MyCourtDocs does not guarantee that documentation created or stored on the Platform will be admissible in any court, tribunal, or legal proceeding. Admissibility determinations are made by the presiding court and are outside the scope of this Platform.
- Professional ethics compliance. Professionals are solely responsible for ensuring their use of the Platform complies with all applicable rules of professional conduct, ethics opinions, and regulatory requirements governing their practice.
4. Data Access & Viewing Rights
Professional access to case data is governed by the following principles:
4.1 Invitation-Based Access
Professionals may only access case data that has been explicitly shared with them by the documenting parent. Access is granted on a per-case basis and may be revoked by the sharing party at any time.
4.2 Read-Only Access
Professional Accounts are provided with read-only access to shared case documentation. Professionals may view, search, filter, and export shared data but may not modify, delete, or alter client-entered records.
4.3 Access Scope
The sharing parent controls which sections of their case documentation are visible to each Professional. Access may include, at the parent's discretion: timeline entries, evidence files, communications, documents, calendar events, and analytical summaries.
4.4 Access Revocation
When a parent revokes access, the Professional's ability to view case data terminates immediately. Previously exported data remains subject to the Professional's own record-keeping obligations and applicable law.
5. Confidentiality Expectations
Professionals accessing case documentation through MyCourtDocs agree to:
- Treat all client-shared documentation as confidential in accordance with applicable professional privilege and ethical rules
- Not disclose, share, or distribute client documentation to unauthorized third parties except as required by law, court order, or with the client's explicit consent
- Implement reasonable safeguards to protect the confidentiality of data accessed through the Platform, including securing devices and accounts used to access the Service
- Comply with all applicable data protection and privacy laws governing the handling of client information
MyCourtDocs implements commercially reasonable security measures to protect data in transit and at rest. However, MyCourtDocs is not responsible for unauthorized access resulting from a Professional's failure to secure their own account, devices, or network.
6. Record Export & Court Use
MyCourtDocs provides Professional Accounts with the ability to export case documentation in various formats (PDF, timeline reports, evidence summaries) for use in legal proceedings, professional review, or client consultations.
Regarding exported records:
- No certification of authenticity. MyCourtDocs does not certify, authenticate, or attest to the accuracy or authenticity of exported documents. Exported records reflect data as entered by the documenting user.
- Metadata preservation. Exports include available metadata (timestamps, entry dates, modification history) to support documentation integrity, but MyCourtDocs makes no warranty regarding the completeness of such metadata.
- Court admissibility. The admissibility of exported records is determined solely by the applicable rules of evidence and the presiding court. MyCourtDocs makes no representation that exports will satisfy evidentiary requirements in any jurisdiction.
- Professional judgment required. Professionals are responsible for reviewing all exported documentation for accuracy, relevance, and appropriateness before presenting it in any legal or professional proceeding.
7. AI Features for Professionals
MyCourtDocs may provide AI-powered features within Professional Accounts, including but not limited to: behavioral pattern analysis, documentation summaries, timeline categorization, and organizational suggestions.
Professionals acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated content is produced algorithmically and is intended for organizational assistance only — it does not constitute legal analysis, professional opinion, or evidentiary finding
- AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies and must be independently verified before being relied upon or presented in any professional context
- AI-generated summaries and pattern analyses should not be cited as independent findings or expert opinions in court filings or professional reports
- MyCourtDocs makes no warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, or fitness of AI-generated content for any particular professional purpose
All AI features carry a mandatory disclaimer: content is for informational and organizational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.
8. Payment & Professional Plan Terms
Professional Accounts are currently provided at no cost to the Professional. Access is granted through client invitation and does not require a separate subscription.
MyCourtDocs reserves the right to introduce paid Professional plan tiers in the future. In such event:
- Existing Professional users will receive at least 60 days' advance written notice of any pricing changes
- Professionals will have the option to accept or decline paid plan terms
- Core read-only case access functionality shared by clients will remain available regardless of plan tier
Any future billing terms will be governed by the pricing and billing provisions set forth in our general Terms & Conditions.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MYCOURTDOCS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO A PROFESSIONAL'S USE OF THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Decisions made based on client documentation viewed through the Platform
- Outcomes of legal proceedings in which Platform-generated exports were used
- Inaccuracies in client-entered data relied upon by the Professional
- Errors in AI-generated analyses, summaries, or pattern reports
- Loss of access to case data due to client-initiated revocation or account termination
No Joint Liability. MyCourtDocs operates as neutral documentation infrastructure. Under no circumstances shall MyCourtDocs be deemed a joint actor, partner, or co-counsel with any Professional. MyCourtDocs assumes no liability for the professional acts, omissions, advice, or representations of any Professional using the Platform.
Aggregate liability cap: MyCourtDocs' total aggregate liability to any Professional for all claims arising out of or relating to the Platform shall not exceed the total fees paid by such Professional to MyCourtDocs during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
MyCourtDocs may suspend or terminate a Professional Account at any time, with or without cause, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms or the general Terms & Conditions
- Misrepresentation of professional credentials or licensing status
- Unauthorized use or disclosure of client documentation
- Use of the Platform in a manner that is harmful, fraudulent, or illegal
- At the request of a client who has revoked all case-sharing permissions
Upon termination, the Professional's access to all shared case data ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Limitation of Liability, Confidentiality Expectations, and Professional Responsibility — shall remain in full force and effect.
These Terms are subject to the governing law and dispute resolution provisions set forth in our general Terms & Conditions, including Texas governing law and Denton County venue.
MyCourtDocs is neutral documentation infrastructure. We do not provide legal advice, verify professional credentials, or participate in case strategy. All professional-client relationships exist independently of this Platform.
